Great picture and sound quality. those are pretty much the only channels you get: ABC, NBC, CBS, WB()., and a whooooooooooooooole bunch of hispanic channels. I get all the basic channels from major television networks. in HD.Only downside is. If you don't watch a lot of television like i do, go for it.
There might be better antennas on the market but I would not know because as far as I am concerned, there is no reason for me to look any further. The picture quality is amazing; it looks just like the signal came from a cable company on all the channels I was looking to get reception for. I could not be more pleased with this product. My friends could not believe that I was using an antenna when watching football games this year. I purchased this product assuming that I would be forced to return it. I live far from any broadcast towers and had never experienced an HD antenna before (I used to have verizon FIOS). With minor tweaking, I was able to get in ABC, NBC, FOX, CW, and CBS all at the same time without having to resort to finding new positions for the antenna each time I wanted to change channels.
I'm all set to watch the Superbowl in HD. Terk's website indicated that all the antennas were on the south side.I connected it up and the TV found all of the local channels. Worked much better than expected. I had low expectations of this antenna but our useless cable provider has no HD converter boxes available so it was worth a try for $36. We live in a high rise in Chicago facing north with another high rise across the street. Very impressed.
So "they" make money, we lose. About this antenna, it is better than 2 other that I tried but it is far from really good. However, things being what they are, it would be naive to expect too much honesty and real information from manufacturers or sellers. Manufacturers should be honest to describe positive AND negative sides of their products, and include realistic and tested data and what one can expect of their products. After trying 2 additional amplified antennas from Walmart (which brought in only about 2 partially working chanels) I reordered the same antenna again since it was better than the other two. I got this antenna and returned it since it only brought in about 5 partially working chanels. I wish they would include more technical information, and would produce antennas with higher amplification so that they receive and amplify even the fainter signals. On bigger items, such as Toyota cars, the big safety recals incure BIG losses for the companies and teach them some lessons: unfortunately, on smaller items (like antennas) customers do not have time to bother, or to remember who sold them what.
I read the other reviews, and I made my selection from Amazon for MUCH LESS $$$ than at my local Best Buy;Plus, NO HIGH SALES TAX, and free shipping.CASE CLOSED. I do have to turn the unit a little for FOX 11, but that's to be expected for an indoor antenna. We're very happy NOT paying for TV services/overpriced "packages".This is like a throwback to the ole' TV "rabbit ears" antennas.
